Brooke MacArthur is a rising country music star from Prince Edward Island who is quickly making waves in Canada’s country music landscape. Known for her soulful warmth and undeniable depth, Brooke’s rich lower register and authentic storytelling have already captured listeners nationwide. Her growing catalogue includes a standout duet with country troubadour Lawrence Maxwell, a track that earned heavy rotation on SiriusXM’s Top of the Country. Following memorable performances at major events like Cavendish Beach Music Festival sharing the stage with such luminaries as The Reklaws, Tim Hicks, and Steven Lee Olsen, Brooke now unveils her most compelling release to date: “Bittersweet Surprise.” Co-written with Nashville hitmaker Dylan Guthro (Walker Hayes, Dan + Shay), the single weaves smoky, blues-tinged textures into a modern country soundtrack. Channeling the vulnerability of Megan Moroney and the raw power of Chris Stapleton, “Bittersweet Surprise” tells the story of relinquishing love—only to discover it again when least expected. With its smooth groove, effortless vocals, and timeless yet contemporary production, the track strikes a rare balance between fresh innovation and classic country soul.
Lawrence Maxwell cut his teeth on beer caps, rough waters, and country music. His latest album, Ballad of Miles was nominated for seven Music PEI Awards, and in 2024, he received the award for Music PEI’s ‘Entertainer of the Year.’ With its neo-traditional production, and comparisons to both John Prine and Merle Haggard, Roots Music Canada has dubbed the record “the first great Canadian alt-country album of the year.” His songs have received airplay on: Sirius XM’s ‘Top of the Country,’ Country Hits Radio UK and CBC ‘Q’. His song, “Blackout Curtain” reached number one in the Canadian Indie Country Countdown radio charts. Having completed his first series of international performances at Tønder Festival in Denmark and Manchester Folk Festival in the UK, Maxwell is expanding his audience as he exports into new markets. As an ECMA award nominee and four-time Music P.E.I. award winner, this Prince Edward Island singer-songwriter will tell it to you like it’s folk and sing it to you like it’s country.
A long-time audience favourite, step dancer Janelle Banks will be taking the stage to open our fourth season. Hailing from Springvale, Janelle is a decorated champion with over two decades of dance experience. Throughout her career, she has competed at top events across Canada, earning countless accolades for her outstanding performances—including at the World Cup in Quebec and in Walt Disney World’s celebrated Magic Kingdom parade.
