Landmark Visit in 1924 to the United Kingdom by the Second Caliph.
His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Bashir-ud-Din Mahmood Ahmad, (may Allah be pleased with him), was the Second Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Elected to office in 1914 at the age of 25 he led the Community for 52 years until his demise in 1965.
He was a profound author, orator and a visionary leader. He established the administrative structure of the Community and extended its international reach.
One hundred years ago His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Bashir-ud-Din Mahmood Ahmad, (may Allah be pleased with him), the Second Caliph (Spiritual Leader) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, embarked on an historic tour from India to the UK. It was the first time that a Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community had come to the UK.
During his historic visit to the UK in 1924 he addressed the Conference of Some Living Religions in the Empire in London and the speech was subsequently published as a book entitled Ahmadiyyat the True Islam. In 1924 His Holiness visited various parts of the England including London and Brighton and he also visited St Paul’s Cathedral and the Houses of Parliament.
