ISL - Improv as Second Language is excited to be hosted by Hoopla Impro for an evening of improvisation!
This evening will be an opportunity for English as a Second/Additional/Foreign Language speakers to join an improv workshop and participate in an optional jam session.
Plus, we'll have at least one act from an all-ESL improv team!
The workshop is open to English as a Second/Additional/Foreign Language improvisers of any level: you are welcome as a beginner and you are welcome if this is your day-job.
The jam is optional; so if you only want to be part of the workshop, you are very welcome to be in the audience later. NB: you must participate in the workshop to be part of the jam, as it functions as a warm-up and an introduction to the spirit of the night.
We welcome everyone to be part of the audience for the show from 8pm. This includes English as a First Language speakers!
Here is a run through of the night:
6:45pm: doors open for workshop participants (so you can get to know each other).
7pm: 1-hour workshop for English as a Second / Additional / Foreign Language speakers only!
8pm: door opens for audience / break for the workshop participants and jammers
8:15pm: show starts
9:30pm -ish: time to say goodbye... or hang downstairs at The Miller pub!
There is going to be a 15-minute break between the workshop and show. There will not be a break during the workshop or during the show.
Limited places for workshop and jam. All tickets are free!
