The Forum of Young Diplomats, in cooperation with the Students' Association of International Relations at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin and the Students' Association of International and European Law at the University of Rzeszów, cordially invite students and PhD candidates to participate in the International Scientific Conference entitled: “Heritage, Sovereignty, and Strength: The Turkic Nations in the 21st Century”.📅 Date: 9 January 2026

The conference aims to provide a multidisciplinary platform for discussing the political, historical, legal, security, and cultural dimensions of the Turkic world in the contemporary international system. Particular attention will be given to both major and lesser-studied Turkic nations, their evolving identities, and their roles in regional and global politics.
The event offers an opportunity to exchange academic perspectives, present original research, and foster international dialogue among young scholars interested in international relations, political science, security studies, law, and area studies.
PROPOSED THEMATIC AREAS include, but are not limited to:
• The Turkic nations in the contemporary international system.
• Sovereignty and statehood among Turkic states and autonomous regions.
• Historical heritage as a tool of modern political legitimacy.
• Foreign policies of Turkic states in the 21st century.
• Regional cooperation and rivalry within the Turkic world.
• The role of Turkic organizations and multilateral initiatives.
• Security challenges faced by Turkic nations (regional conflicts, military cooperation, strategic alliances).
• Energy policy, transit routes, and geopolitical importance of Turkic regions.
• Legal systems, constitutional developments, and human rights in Turkic countries.
• Minority rights and identity politics among Turkic peoples.
• Soft power, cultural diplomacy, and language policy in the Turkic world.
• The impact of global powers on Turkic states and regions.
• Small Turkic nations and communities in international relations.
• The future of Turkic cooperation in a changing global order.
Participants are welcome to propose their own topics related to the conference theme. Interdisciplinary approaches and comparative analyses are strongly encouraged.

🌍 Conference languages: English (strongly preferred) and Polish
💲 Participation is free for both presenters and attendees.
📜 Certificates will be provided to active participants (speakers) in electronic form within two weeks after the conference.
👥 Passive participants can join the conference without prior registration. The event link will be publicly shared on Facebook.
🕑 All times are provided in Central European Time (CET).
Information regarding acceptance, the detailed conference programme, technical instructions, and access links will be sent by e-mail after the registration process is completed and published on the event’s Facebook page.
