About this Event
The Isaac Eicher Quartet, with the acoustic and electric mandolin at its head, features an eclectic, powerful collection of local legends with Giovanni Rodriguez on electric bass, Jesus Agreda on drums and Will Barrow on piano, and will perform Eicher’s original compositions as well as some jazz favorites.
A rising artist in the acoustic jazz scene, Isaac Eicher is taking the mandolin to new heights with a virtuosic blend of jazz, bebop, latin music and more. Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Eicher grew up in a musical household and started playing mandolin at a young age, inheriting a diverse taste of music from his parents, violinist Shelby Eicher and vocalist Janet Rutland. Eicher would go on to develop a rare technical facility and deep musicality on his instrument, while finding a unique voice with the jazz idiom.
Eicher recently released his second studio album titled "Accents", a triumph in the mandolin world that includes some Latin-inspired original compositions as well as some well-known jazz standards in a gypsy jazz format. The project also features some prominent guest collaborators like Victor Wooten, Rory Hoffman, Eli Bishop and more, making it a must-listen for jazz fans and mandolin fans alike.
