IS READING A CIVIL RIGHT?

More than half of third- through eighth-grade students who attend public schools in the city of Fort Worth did not meet grade level for reading on state accountability tests in 2024*. In the Fort Worth ISD alone, only 33 percent of third-graders scored at grade level in reading**.

Some argue that such statistics represent not only a failure in education but a failure to meet basic civil rights. Join us for a keynote address and panel discussion on an issue that is critical to the future of our community. See you there!

Kimberly Jenkins Robinson, director of the Education Rights Institute and professor at the University of Virginia School of Law.

Trenace Dorsey-Hollins, leader of Parent Shield Fort Worth.

Brent Beasley, chief executive officer of the Fort Worth Education Partnership.
