You will be asked to upload your resume and supporting documents (if using to qualify). To qualify, you must have at least 12 months of general experience (paid or unpaid). Progressively responsible clerical and/or office experience indicates the ability to perform the job duties. Post secondary education can be substituted for experience. We will pre-qualify you based on the experience listed on your resume. Failure to provide sufficient evidence of your experience on your resume may result in a "not qualified" or lower-graded determination.

About the Positions:
Clerks and Tax Examiners perform a variety of administrative tasks and duties associated with tax administration. These duties will vary based on the position and may include identifying and reviewing forms, preparing inventory reports, reviewing filed material, transcribing taxpayer documents, responding to taxpayer correspondence, resolving account issues, and reviewing tax returns for errors and missing information.
We will be offering full-time seasonal positions. Seasonal employment typically lasts 6-8 months or longer and provides the stability of returning to your position each year. These positions do not require you to have any prior tax experience, as we provide comprehensive training to new hires.
These positions are not eligible for telework. You will be required to work at the Austin, TX Service Center.
Eligible new hires may receive a $2,000 pre-taxed incentive, paid in two installments of $1,000 upon successful completion of employment at 6 months and 18 months. A two-year service agreement is required.

Although not a guaranteed appointment time, attending at your chosen appointment time will help to keep the event organized and prevent long wait times. Registered applicants will be given priority consideration. Walk-ins will not be considered until after 12pm.

What to bring:
During this event, we will be making job offers to those that pre-applied to the exclusive announcement listed above and were deemed qualified. Once an offer is extended and accepted, the applicant will be able to complete several pre-employment steps, such as fingerprinting, at the event. This process can take 2-3 hours to complete. Remember to create and be able to access your USAJOBS account and bring the following:

- Two forms of ID for fingerprinting.
