Hundreds of runners from over 60 schools across the region will gather at Winged Deer Lakeside Park on Saturday, September 13, 2025, for the 2nd annual Iron Mountains Invitational, a cross country meet that has quickly become a highlight of the fall sports season!Hosted by Visit Johnson City, in partnership with David Nutter, the event offers a full slate of racing for elementary, middle, and high school athletes. The course, set against the backdrop of Boone Lake and the mountains, showcases one of Johnson City’s most scenic parks while providing young runners with an opportunity to compete in a challenging, large-scale, championship-style environment.
