Iron Man Challenge 2024Saturday the 24th of August 2024

A true test of skill and ability, who will have the will to survive the Iron Man 40K challenge? On Saturday the 24th of August we have a special 40K event for you, one where the rules of attrition will apply and those who are not careful with their forces will not survive the day.
What is the Iron Man Challenge Event:
To take part in this event you will need to bring with you a 2000 point roster of models. The aim of the challenge is to fight 3 Matched Play games starting at 2000 points for the first game and as your units die they are removed from your roster. You will be allowed to keep 1 HQ choice and 1 Unit choice alive for the entire event, these must be used in each game you play and must remain the same throughout the event.
What You Will Need:
Each player will bring the following on the day:
• 2000 Points of models filled in on one of our Iron Man Challenge Roster Sheets.
• 1 Character – your Warlord - and 1 Unit from that 2000 points must remain the same for the whole event. (the combined total of these models cannot exceed 500 points and you must select and mark your Retinue unit at the start of the game).
• Pariah Nexus Mission Deck, relevant Codex/Index Cards, dice & tape measure, Objective Markers and a copy of the Warhammer 40,000 rules.
The Iron Man event itself will begin as a 2000 point Matched Play event. As your units are wiped out you will then have to use requisition points gathered through the Thursday League to bring them back to use in your games, otherwise you will be playing with less points and be at a disadvantage.
Rules for Units dying:
• When an ENTIRE Unit is destroyed during one of your games that Unit is considered wiped out and must be removed from your available roster of models. Note that units consisting of only 1 model are destroyed then they are also removed from your roster.
• If a unit is 1 model and is damaged or injured, so long as it is not destroyed, it will regain all it’s wounds and start as new for the next game.
• If a Unit of more than 1 model or a TITANIC unit is reduced to less than 25% of it’s starting value then that Unit is considered Battle Scarred. It will return to it’s full strength of models for the following game but will have all “to hit” rolls reduced by -1 for the remainder of the event.
• Your Warlord and Retinue will always return for each game, regardless of the fact if they are slain or not and will always return at full strength.
Bringing Units Back:
After each game players will be allowed to potentially bring units back and reinforce their armies ready for the next game. To do this they will need to spend Requisition Points. Each player will start the event with a MINIMUM of 5 Requisition Points. Players will accrue these throughout the weeks leading up to the event and will be able to spend them to do the following things:
Spending Requisition Points:
• 1 Requisition Point may be spent to REMOVE a Battle Scar from an injured Unit. This will remove the -1 on all to hit rolls. There is no limit to how many Requisition Points you may spend on this – just however many you have.
• Players may spend Requisition Points to return lost units to their Iron Man Roster using the following rules:
Each Requisition Point spent can return up to 200 points of lost models to your Iron Man Roster. Note that if a unit costs more than 200 points then you will need to spend an additional Requisition Point to bring it back. There is no limit to how many Requisition Points you may spend on this – just however many you have.
Once spent a Requisition Point is lost and cannot be used again. Additionally you may never have more than 2000 points of models used in any of your games. This is why you only bring 2000 points along for the event.
