Starting March 1, paint a single model of any size, and bring it to our display case! Our judges will score the models and provide constructive feedback. On March 15, we'll announce scores and prizes! $15 entry, 100% of entry proceeds will be used for prize support!
Q: Does it have to be painted between March 1 and March 15?
A: Yes, we want to give a bit of a challenge on this one and see what we can all do in a 2 week window!
Q: Do I have to buy the model at the shop?
A: No! While we'd love to provide the model, if you have something on your existing shelf of shame, something fresh from your 3d printer, or any other source, that's 100% okay too!
Q: Do we get our models back?
A: Of course! (This actually did pop up in store, we are not asking folks to drop cash on a model and then keeping it for ourselves, can you even imagine?) Models will go in the display case until judging is completed on March 15, after which they can be picked up! We will have contact info taken on entry sheets so nobody's model gets left in the lurch.
Q: How is judging handled?
A: Judging will be on a 1-5 score system (a 5.0 being absolutely perfect Golden Demon quality, a 1.0 being a bare plastic model with one stroke of black paint on the left rear calf). We are hoping to have a 3 judge panel that will not only give us a good average score for each piece, but we are also asking our judges to provide constructive feedback and tips for improvement or exploration!
