Every December, Irmo Town Park transforms into a festive wonderland. The annual Tree Lighting is a beloved community tradition, where neighbors gather under the twinkling lights to celebrate the holiday season.Local school choirs and bands fill the air with festive melodies, and Mayor Danielson delivers a heartwarming greeting. The park is adorned with Christmas decorations created by the talented SC Career Kids, adding a touch of magic to the evening.
The highlight of the event is the lighting of the Irmo Tree. As the countdown begins, the crowd eagerly awaits the moment when the tree is illuminated, casting a warm glow over the Town Park.
After the tree lighting, the community is treated to pizza, hot chocolate, and cookies. But that's not all! A special guest arrives with a sleigh full of cheer – Santa Claus himself! As the fire truck sirens sound, children's eyes light up with excitement as they rush to greet the jolly old man and share their Christmas wishes.
The Irmo Tree Lighting is a truly magical experience that brings joy and holiday spirit to the entire community.
Join us Tuesday, December 3, at 6 p.m. at Irmo Town Park (7330 Carlisle St.) for the festivities!
