About this Event

Ireland Music Week is an independent festival & music conference dedicated to showcasing the very best in new Irish music.

Ireland Music Week (formerly HWCH) is an important event in an artists’ development and profile in the music industry. The main aim is to allow both industry and fans to witness the next crop of Irish talent. The showcases and the robust and busy conference schedule maintain IMW’s essential presence as a key international-facing showcase event. Many artists go on to showcase at some of international festivals that Music From Ireland partners with each year. More info via https://www.musicfromireland.org/.

Previous IMW showcasing acts include Fontaines D.C., David Keenan, Denise Chaila, Kynsy, CMAT, Alex Gough, Aoife Nessa Frances, Sprints, M(h)aol, Niamh Regan, Pretty Happy, Cooks But We’re Chefs, Pillow Queens, THUMPER, Soulé, Daithí, Jafaris, Saint Sister, Wyvern Lingo, Just Mustard, Villagers, 2013's breakthrough act Hozier, Gilla Band, Jape, The Coronas, Talos, Le Boom, Loah, Soak, Sinead O’ Brien, Æ Mak, Gurriers, Ailbhe Reddy, MELTS, April, Jyellowl, Somebody’s Child, Junior Brother and many more.

Since our inception in 2003, Ireland Music Week's showcase has given a platform to some of Ireland’s best-known acts, and carved out a strong, uncompromising identity. The competition for applicants every year is always tough, with up to 600 acts vying for just 50 slots. We’re confident the 2023 line-up will represent the best of the best from Ireland’s deep bench of emerging talent.

Ireland Music Week is also part of Keychange, a pioneering initiative which aims to see music festival line-ups achieve a 50/50 gender balance while investing in the next generation of women artists and artists from underrepresented gender minorities. HWCH/Ireland Music Week was the first Irish festival to sign up to Keychange, and we're proud to continue this.

The Ireland Music Week conference also provides artists a chance to learn and develop their craft, and create new opportunities with agents, labels, bookers, music supervisors, and services from all over the world. From workshops and panels, to master classes and speed sessions, our conference gives artists, and those who support them, the tools and network they need to sustain a career in music.
