Earning Your CISP Designation?
This course is approved by the American Bankers Association (ABA) to prepare professionals for the CISP exam.
Exam Eligibility: If you decide to take the CISP exam, you must first make sure you are eligible to take the exam. In order to qualify to take the CISP exam, professionals typically need to have 4 years of dedicated IRA operational or technical experience. However, IRA Academy's American Bankers Association (ABA) approval lowers the professional experience requirement to only 2 years after completing the course. Here is a link to the ABA website which goes over the eligibility requirements. Please note the fee and application for the CISP exam are processed directly with the ABA.
Exam Site Selection: Since we cannot proctor the exam on-site at the end of the training, those who register for the CISP exam via the American Bankers Association will take the test off-site, at a date and location scheduled with the ABA in advance. Candidates may review available exam cities by clicking here and selecting the appropriate state. While exam site addresses are never publicly posted for security purposes, anyone can confirm how far away they are from the closest exam sites before registration by calling Scantron. Alternatively, at-home testing is also available if scheduled with the ABA within the posted exam periods. All registered candidates receive information about how to schedule their exam appointments 30 days prior to the start of the exam window. For more details regarding CISP exam eligibility and the registration process, click here.
Exam Window & Application Deadline: To take the exam September 15–October 15, 2023, you must submit your application to the American Bankers Association by July 17, 2023, and pay a fee of $550. See the ABA's page here for more exam dates and details.
