About this Event
IPHIR (Inter-Disciplinary Partnership on Health Inequalities and Race) brings together academics,researchers and community organisations working across disciplines in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. It aims to encourage the exchange of knowledge and perspectives, to promote the dissemination of research findings, and to support the development of collaborative, interdisciplinary research agendas on health inequalities and race in the UK and beyond.
On 4th December 2024 we will hold our third in person networking conference. This will be an opportunity to showcase some of the expertise and ground-breaking research currently being undertaken at the three institutions (UoD, UoN and NTU) by academic staff, researchers, and post-graduate students.
Papers and presentations will cover topics such as:
- Inequalities of health outcomes (focusing on race, but also including intersectional approaches, e.g. gender, age, class);
- Racial biases in clinical research.
- Access to services and public participation (including the role of community organisations);
- Inequalities and discrimination faced by healthcare patients and health practitioners.
