The International Nordic Walking Federation INWA and Finlandia-hiihto are jointly organising the Nordic Walking European Championships on September 12-14, 2025, in Lahti. Lahti is one of the most famous Nordic winter sports competition centres in the world.
INWA is the world's largest Nordic Walking Federation with member organisations from 20 countries and activities in more than 30 countries. INWA has started race activities already in 2017. Finlandia-hiihto operates in Lahti and has organised the legendary Finlandia-hiihto mass ski event for more than 50 years since 1974. In recent years, the Finlandia-hiihto event has reached approximately. 4 – 5,000 participants annually. Every year, participants in Finlandia-hiihto represent around 30 different nationalities.
