We cordially invite you to the Czech Film Night, which will take place on Tuesday, the 8th of April 2025 at 7:30 p.m. in Husets Biograf, Rådshusstræde 13, Copenhagen K.For the April screening, we have selected: "Amerikánka aka Girl America" (2024), an epic film adaptation directed by Viktor Tauš, nominated for the Czech Film Critics and Czech Lion 2025 Awards.
About the movie: Girl America tells its story in an unconventional stylized language that resembles a surreal geyser full of colors, life, and dreams. Although there is not a single realistic scene in the film, the intense feeling of reality never leaves the viewer's mind for a moment. Nothing is real, and yet absolutely everything you see on the screen is real. The story. The characters. The scars. Everything is authentic. The children here play real characters of abandoned children, and since they themselves are mostly from children's homes, they imbue the stories of their characters with their own destinies. Viktor Tauš first staged the story of Girl America at the Jatka 78 theater, where it was seen by over 100,000 viewers.
