(In)Visible is a powerful dance work by Mozambican choreographerJaneth Mulapha exploring themes of seeing and not seeing, and the blindness we choose. Through movement, narration, and striking scenography, performers navigate hope, despair, and the fragile balance of identity, age, injury, and disability. The production brings together a seasoned and diverse creative team, including South African scenographer Jenni-Lee Crewe, and lighting and stage managers Pumeza Damane and Awande Dube. The cast features Promise Cindy Magopa, Nicholas Aphane, Promise Mosoma, and Kaldi Makutike—each of whom brings a unique voice, physical vocabulary and personal history to this complex and affecting piece.
Presented in partnership with the French Institute in South Africa, The Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation, Mpumalanga Province, Alliance Française de Gaborone, Maitisong Theatre, PopArt Joburg and The Forgotten Angle Theatre Collaborative.
