About this Event
In November 2022, voters overwhelmingly passed three ballot measures to establish a lasting equity infrastructure, requiring the City to eliminate structural racism. A key part of that work is ensuring that the City’s budgeting process and investment strategy align with these goals.
Join us for a conversation to explore how NYC can implement equitable allocation of government resources that addresses harm caused by racism and social injustice.
Featured Speakers:
- Linda Tigani – Chair and Executive Director, NYC Commission on Racial Equity (CORE)
- Jennifer Jones Austin – Chief Executive Officer & Executive Director, FPWA
- Darrick Hamilton – Henry Cohen Professor of Economics and Urban Policy
- Sarah Treuhaft – Senior Director of Policy and Partnerships, Institute on Race, Power, and Political Economy
- Councilmember Dr. Nantasha Williams, District 27
- Sideya Sherman – NYC Chief Equity Officer and Commissioner, Mayor’s Office of Equity and Racial Justice
This conversation will be a welcoming space for discussion and learning as we explore how NYC can measure progress toward an equitable budget.
