Discover the past through evidence from an archaeological site in Nevada! Join us for a FREE three-day teacher workshop to explore the intersections of culture, food, people, and the environment. Project Archaeology: Investigating Food and Land curriculum engages upper-elementary and middle school teachers and their students. They will examine food system changes in the Great Basin over time. Participants will use environmental archaeology inquiry techniques to analyze artifacts at the O’Malley rock shelter site in Lincoln County, Nevada.Only 16 spots available!
• Receive a $150 stipend for attending
• Curriculum guide aligned to standards
• Field trip transportation (possibly lunches also)
• Cultural instruction by a Goshute elder, Virgil Johnson
• Two graduate university credits for $46 (optional)
