Learn how invasive plants impact Florida’s ecosystems, and what you can do to help with Dr. Brittany Scharf. This is an in-person Invasive Plants course in Hernando County from February 24–27. Through classroom instruction, hands-on plant morphology labs, and immersive field trips, participants will build practical skills for identifying and managing invasive plant species across Florida.
Field experiences include guided explorations at Chinsegut Conservation Center and Hog Island, where students will study both upland and aquatic invasives, learn management strategies, and apply identification tools in real-world settings.
