About this Event
We are seeking participants to sign-up and bring their string trimmers to selectively string trim Japanese Stiltgrass in predetermined areas while doing their best to avoid any native plants in the mix. We are hoping to reduce native plant casualties, but recognize it might happen! The end goal is to carefully knock down as much grass while it is in flower before it seeds. We are entering the height of tick and chigger season, please dress appropriately and don't forget to do a check once you get home!
If you are not willing to wield a whacker, please consider coming to manually pull some stiltgrass by hand before it goes to seed!Sign-up required!
Where: 1360 Belman Road, Fredericksburg, VA, 22401
When: July 12th, rain date: July 19th
What to wear: long sleeves + pants, closed toed shoes, sun protection, heat protection, and your favorite tick protection!
What to bring: Water bottle, your favorite gloves, snack if you need it
What we'll provide: We will have a water cooler, bug spray, gloves, and will provide instruction.
