About this Event
Help preserve the beautiful Fells ecosystem and connect with community members by joining Friends of the Fells on Fridays at Bellevue Pond to remove invasive plant species! We will be holding weekly invasive removal events at Bellevue Pond, using tools to harmful non-native plant species including garlic mustard, asiatic bittersweet, black swallow-wort and more.
What will you do?
Remove and manage invasive plants with gloves, shovels, loppers, and other tools. Suitable for ages 12 and up.
This event will be held at Bellevue Pond off South Border Road in Medford (Google Maps location here). Parking is available at the South Border Road Parking Lot (Google Maps location here).
Please bring a hat, sunscreen, your own reusable water bottle, and a snack, if you would like one. We recommend wearing sturdy shoes, warm gloves, long sleeves, long socks, and long pants to help prevent poison ivy or tick exposure. Please note, there are no restrooms at this site.
Tools and light work gloves will be provided; please also feel free to bring personal tools or gloves.
