About this Event
In case you haven’t heard, Feb. 24th through 28th, 2025 is National Invasive Species Awareness Week (NISAW)! To show our support and learn how to manage invasive species in our own back yards, Sarasota County will be hosting a one-hour group event at Shamrock Park and Nature Center, Saturday, March 01, from 9:30am to 10:30am. Park Naturalist, Teresa Good, will explain what invasive species are and how they harm our environment. The group will get a chance for some hands-on experience pulling those pesky invaders!
Come join us to learn how we, as Sarasota County residents, can help keep Sarasota beautiful and how to spread the word. We will meet at the Shamrock Park Nature Center, 3900 Shamrock Drive, Venice, Florida. Please contact Parks Naturalist, Teresa Good with questions: [email protected]. Please wear sneakers or closed toed/closed heeled shoes and bring water and gloves. Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended. Hope to see you there!
NOTE: Appropriate for ages 12 and up.
Instructor: UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County educator
