Invasive plant species can severely disrupt local ecosystems and the local food chain by outcompeting native plant species. These invasive plants often grow more rapidly and aggressively, monopolizing resources like sunlight, water, and soil nutrients. As a result, native plants decline, reducing the availability of seeds, fruits, and insects that many native bird and other animal species feed on. This can lead to a decrease in native animal populations, as they struggle to find adequate food and nesting sites.
