About this Event
Welcome to the Invasive Burmese Pythons in the Florida Everglades speaker series presentation! Join us on Tuesday, January 14 at 4:00 PM at the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) - Education Center to learn about the impact of the Burmese pythons on the ecosystem. Discover how they are affecting native wildlife and what efforts are being made to control their population. Learn why these amazing animals are still deserving of respect, even though we do not want them in our ecosystem.
About the Speaker: Mike Kirkland is the Senior Invasive Animal Biologist for the South Florida Water Management District and manager of the Python Elimination Program, with more than 18 years of experience working on Everglades restoration projects. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Policy and Management and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology.
