About this Event
In 1774 after the Boston Tea, England closed the Port of Boston and moved the Capital of the Massachusetts Colony to Salem in the early summer of 1774. Honoring the arrival of General Gage, his staff and members of the British Army, the Gentlemen of Salem hosted a historic pop up ball for the King's Birthday. To celebrate the 250th Anniversary of Salem becoming the Captial of the Massachusetts Colony, please join the people of Salem for the celebration of this rare historic event!
