The goal of this class will be to create intuitive, colorful watercolor florals blending realism and abstract shapes and textures while celebrating the way watercolor reacts. The class will utilize fresh flowers and silk flower arrangements as a starting point for an idea that will be developed abstractly. In other words, the paintings will not be a realistic floral but an adventure in color and spontaneity. This will be a great way to create those "loose", colorful watercolor paintings that are full of movement.
Level 1: Beginner
This class is appropriate for beginner to advanced painters. Covers the basic techniques of the medium and offers individual assistance. No prior experience is required.
Supplies Needed:
- Watercolor brushes, Round: Number 12 and Number 6
- Liner brush
- Paper towels
- Palette
- Mixed media paper (at least 11" x 14") and any interesting patterned paper you
would like to use.
Watercolor Paints:
- Yellow Ochre
- Cadmium Yellow Medium
- Cadmium Orange
- Cadmium Red Light
- Alizarin Crimson
- Ultramarine Blue
- Cobalt Blue
UPDATED CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations made 14 days or more in advance of the workshop will receive a refund equal to 50% of the cost of the class. Cancellations made within 14 days of the event will not receive a refund. This will help ensure that the instructor will be paid for their time and effort of teaching the workshop.
