Sonic Wisdom Sound Meditation invokes an acoustic, intuitive, multi-facilitator, multi-instrumental approach to sound journeys bringing participants into deep meditative states and connection with themselves. You can expect to not only feel more physically relaxed, but mentally clear, emotionally balanced. and be able to access things like more contentment, clarity and love.
This is achieved by energy manipulation of the room and intuitively offering unique voice and sound for each event according to what participants need. You can think of this as an opportunity to transcend to alternate states of consciousness and allow the physical, mental, emotional and energetic healing to take place. A variety of vocal tones and therapeutic instruments will be used that are associated with the chakra system, nature elements and shamanic, heart-opening and celestial vibrations. Instruments can include: gong, crystal and metal bowls, prayer drum, flute, harmonium, harp, guitar, chimes and more.
This event is being hosted by the San Diego Voice and Sound Collective which is a collection of students trained buy Shervin Boloorian, award-winning international musician and sound healer supporting sound healing education, training and facilitation in San Diego and around the world.

Meghan Hynson - PhD in Ethnomusicology and Assistant Professor at USD, yogi, mother, traveller, entrepreneur, musician, sound healing enthusiast, Bali obsessed and retreat owner. She received a B.M. in Music Education from Boston University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology from UCLA. Dr. Hynson spent over a decade living and studying in Southeast Asia, where she has conducted extensive research on religious and gender politics in the performing arts of Bali and West Java, Indonesia. Her 2015 dissertation, “From Tradisi to Inovasi: Authority, Music, and Change in Balinese Shadow Theater,” examines ideological, political, and economic trends in post-independence Indonesia to reveal how they have affected female participation, ritual efficacy, and musical development in Balinese shadow theater. She actively teaches and leads Indonesian world music ensembles as a means of fostering global engagement. She has completed Sound Healing Bali's Module 1 and Module 2 trainings. She has a MA in Curriculum and Instruction from Chapman University, teaches high school English, and owns a holistic health + wellness studio in Indian Wells, CA where science and spirituality intersect in the treatment room.
