About this Event
We’re excited to offer a series of art classes specifically designed to support Ukrainian migrants and refugees in Birmingham who have been affected by the war. These sessions, focused on the therapeutic practice of intuitive painting, provide a safe and nurturing space for emotional healing and self-expression.
Why Intuitive Painting?
For those who have experienced the trauma and upheaval of war, intuitive painting offers a gentle, yet powerful way to process emotions. By engaging in this creative practice, participants can release stress, anxiety, and other difficult emotions in a supportive environment. Intuitive painting helps individuals connect with their inner selves, fostering a sense of calm and resilience during challenging times.
Therapeutic Benefits:
- Emotional Healing: Art becomes a tool for processing the complex emotions tied to displacement, loss, and starting anew in a foreign country.
- Stress Relief: The calming effect of creating without judgement helps ease the mental and emotional burden carried by those who have fled conflict.
- Sense of Belonging: This workshop offers a community where participants can connect with others who have shared similar experiences, reducing feelings of isolation.
- Mental Well-being: By focusing on the present moment and expressing feelings through art, participants can find peace and a sense of control over their emotional state.
This workshop is a space where Ukrainians in Birmingham can come together to heal and find strength through the transformative power of art. We look forward to supporting you on this journey.
