Introduction to Weiqi

Weiqi is one of the most ancient and complex intellectual board games ever invented by the Chinese civilization, and it stands as one of the Four Essential Arts of the Chinese Scholar—alongside guqin (seven-stringed zither), Chinese calligraphy, and Chinese painting. Black and white stones on a small board can unfold the vastness of the universe and the philosophy of life. Weiqi is not only the ultimate duel of strategy but also a perfect embodiment of Eastern philosophy and culture. China Cultural Center in Stockholm invites you to step into the mysterious world of Weiqi through its “China’s Stories” lecture series!
