Hello everyone!I am thrilled to launch the first of our new Monthly Shorter Walks. This program is specifically designed to get us outdoors, enjoy the fresh air, and make walking accessible to everyone. Whether you are a seasoned walker or just starting your journey to get active, this is a low-pressure, friendly space to build your confidence and meet new people.
Why join us? Our goal is more than just hitting a step count. These walks are about:
Accessibility: A gentle 3-mile route on relatively flat terrain—perfect for those building up to longer distances.
Mental Wellbeing: Taking a "Walk and Talk" approach to clear the mind and support one another.
Social Connection: Breaking social isolation by bringing the community together. No one walks alone!
The "After-Walk": We’ll always aim for a spot with a coffee van or benches to enjoy a brew and a chat afterward.
The Details:
Distance: Approx. 3 miles.
Pace: Gentle and inclusive—we go as fast as the slowest walker.
Who is it for? Everyone! If you’ve been nervous about joining the longer 5+ mile treks, this is the perfect place to start.
