This is the class for the first time turner or anyone with limited experience in turning. The student will be introduced to the lathe and many of the common tools used in wood turning, including the proper use of said tools. The student will learn a variety of techniques of turning between centers, including sharpening tools. There will be strong emphasis on safety. Students have the option of providing their own eye and ear safety equipment. Otherwise, the safety equipment will be provided.
