About this Event
To contribute to a more trauma-informed organizational culture, supervisors and managers must be equipped to lead in a trauma-informed way. Join us for this introduction to trauma informed supervision, applicable for anyone in a supervisory role in any sector of work.
OBJECTIVES:
- Participants will develop deeper understanding of the connection between on-the-job behaviors and the neurobiological processes of stress and trauma exposure
- Participants will explore how to apply the principles, commitments, and actions of trauma informed care to supervisory relationships
- Participants will consider tools to prepare for crucial conversations and to give feedback to supervisees
- Participants will review practices to structure safety in supervision
This training provides three (3) contact hours, CEU applicable for most professions. A certificate of completion will be provided via email after the class.
FAQs
Where will this take place? This session will occur in the 1st floor meeting room named the Crossroads Room in the University Health-Behavioral Health Crossroads Building. Parking is available in the lot across the street and the lot next to the building--be sure to park in a space labeled with the UH logo. Street parking is also available, but many areas are time-limited (2- or 3- hour parking) and/or metered. We are not responsible for parking violations.
What is the event schedule? The class will meet from 9am-12pm Central time. We encourage you to arrive 15 minutes early to park and locate the room. We will take a break during the session.
