About this Event
To contribute to a more trauma-informed organizational culture, supervisors and managers must be equipped to lead in a trauma-informed way. Join us for this introduction to trauma informed supervision, applicable for anyone in a supervisory role in any sector of work.
OBJECTIVES:
- Participants will develop deeper understanding of the connection between on-the-job behaviors and the neurobiological processes of stress and trauma exposure
- Participants will explore how to apply the principles, commitments, and actions of trauma informed care to supervisory relationships
- Participants will consider tools to prepare for crucial conversations and to give feedback to supervisees
- Participants will review practices to structure safety in supervision and build belonging in their team
This training provides three (3) contact hours, CEU applicable for most professions. A certificate of completion will be provided via email after the class.
Pre-requisites: While not required, you are strongly encouraged to view the 20-minute Introduction to Trauma Informed Care video linked below prior to the class.

Where will this take place? This session will occur in the Ground Floor Conference Rooms at the University Health-Truman Medical Center campus at Holmes & 22nd St. Visitor parking is available in the garage across from the main entrance of the hospital. UH staff must park in the appropriate staff parking areas. We are not responsible for parking violations.
Directions to the Ground Floor Conference Rooms: Go through the main entrance of the UH-TMC building. You will need to pass through the security checkpoint. If you are a visitor to University Health, you will need to stop to show your ID and obtain a visitor pass. Go down the hallway to the main elevators. Take the elevator down to the Ground floor. There is a hallway just before the cafeteria entrance that has a sign directing you to the conference rooms.
What is the event schedule? The class will meet from 1:00 to 4:00pm Central time. We encourage you to arrive at least 15 minutes early to park, go through security, and locate the room. We will take a break during the session. Food and drink are allowed in the space, but please be mindful of strong aromas or potential allergens for your co-participants.
Refund policy: Refunds will be provided upon request until 3 days before the event. Eventbrite processing fees will not be refunded.
