About this Event
For those interested in Outdoor Education in Yakima Valley, you're invited to volunteer for Trail Talks, Cowiche Canyon Conservancy's interactive outdoor field trip program! This orientation will cover the basics of the program -- what it is, how it works, why it's meaningful, and how you can get involved. There will be an informal meetup after the training, at Single Hill Brewing, for anyone interested in continuing the conversation.
We rely on community volunteers to help us run Nature Walks and Learning Stations. We hope you can join us!
MORE INFO ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Trail Talks is Cowiche Canyon Conservancy’s hands-on outdoor learning program for elementary and middle school students. Walks and learning stations focus on ecological relationships. Trips take place at Snow Mountain Ranch in Cowiche, WA. All field trips include a lesson on the Web of Life and nature walks. Groups choose from a variety of learning stations on geology, the butterfly lifecycle, plant communication, shrub-steppe ecology and more.
*Field trips typically take place during weekdays – generally between 9am and 1pm. Timing is often a limiting factor for many working professionals. If your place of work offers volunteering support or paid volunteer hours, we encourage you to connect with us to find a way to get involved. In our experience, where there’s a will there’s a way!

If you have questions or want more information about the training, please feel free to email our Education & Community Outreach Coordinator ([email protected]). Thank you!
