The instructor for this class became interested in Japanese art and culture starting over 20 years ago at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art where she learned the ancient art of Sumi-e. Sherry Davis went on to teach both students and adults. Sherry is a member of the Artists Council and has exhibited her work in the Artists Center. Most of her work today combines ink brush painting with traditional Japanese woodblock prints to create a mixed media painting. Her recent demo was met with enthusiastic interest in this ancient technique.
