About this Event
In this 2 part class, class you will learn how to design, stitch, and pull threads to ready a piece of fabric for the dye vat. Each participant will prepare a white cotton napkin for the vat using a simple but very versatile stitch called “Ori Nui.” The prepared napkins will be dyed in the instructor’s indigo vat.
In the first class we will look at a variety of stitches, classic Japanese patterns and motifs, tools, and additional resources available to help you expand your practice. Participants will begin to stitch their napkins using the Ori Nui stitch and will take the project home to finish in time for the second class.
This two-day workshop will take place on the following days/times/locations:
Saturday, September 21, 2-4pm at the White River Craft Center
Saturday, September 28, 2-4pm off-site at the instructor’s dye kitchen in Randolph, VT
