Instructor: Juliana KapustaSkill Level: Beginner
In this new class, students will learn the craft of rug hooking AND proddy by taking strips of hand dyed wool fabric and yarn, and pulling it through a linen backing to create a sunflower coaster. The kit contains hand dyed wool and yarn, linen foundation, a hook, a proddy tool, and an 8” x 8” frame. Please bring scissors.
Rug Hooking became popular during the time of the Civil War but may have started as early as the Colonial period. It is thought that proddy (a form of rug hooking) was used by Colonial sailors to pad places where wood hit wood and thus saving it from wear and tear.
Please note *** A materials fee of $55 is due to the instructor at the start of the class.
