With this workshop, you can deepen your understanding of movement, enhance your physical capabilities, and tap into the meditative aspects of these practices. Participants can look forward to gaining valuable insights into their bodies and cultivating a mindful, creative approach to movement.
Qi Gong is a meditation and movement practice that can assist movers in enhancing their whole-body awareness, feeling their center, and understanding the connections within their body. The simple yet highly effective exercises strengthen the fascia throughout the entire body, promoting muscle regeneration and revitalizing both the body and soul. By honing in on the body's connections and improving center awareness, Qi Gong facilitates increased availability for diverse movement possibilities. Beyond physical benefits, the meditative aspects of Qi Gong help participants enter a flow state, access creativity, and reconnect with their bodies even in stressful situations.
In partner qi gong, we train to sense our own balance and movement options in relation to our partner. Through these exercises, we cultivate sensitivity to feel our partner, fostering a collaborative flow and exploring movement options and limitations together.
- Improved posture and body alignment with minimal effort
- Enhanced muscle relaxation, enabling greater flexibility in movement speed and quality
- Increased sensitivity, crucial for practices like contact improvisation or fighting, allowing for a creative flow and anticipation of a partner's next move
- Development of patience and endurance
Who is teaching?
Clara Lohmann is a movement teacher at Bewegungskollektiv Berlin, teaching movement inspired by internal martial arts principles. She has been at Xuan Gong Fu Academy as a full-time student for 1,5 years now, focusing on Tai Ji, Qi Gong and Ba Gua Zhang. Before focusing on martial arts, she was living in a movement community for several years, learning from a direct Ido Portal student and practicing with other great teachers from different disciplines (acrobatics, dance, martial arts).
