About the Instructor: Francesca's passion for printmaking came into existence during her second year of art school. She completed a collection of courses in this medium and went on to do an additional 3 years of directed studies in traditional printmaking. Her work focused on mental health and the natural world. Due to the toxicity of traditional printmaking, she started to search for safer ways to work in this medium. Using Akua Inks and combining other art forms such as mixed media and book arts into her work, Francesca's work has now expanded beyond a sheet of paper.
Francesca holds a BA in visual arts and theatre from Vancouver Island University. She teaches at Nanaimo Ceramic Arts Studio & Gallery, Artists in the Schools program with the Nanaimo Art Gallery and has hosted workshops at other arts organizations such as Salt Spring Island Printmakers and this winter at The Old School House in Qualicum Beach.
