Introduction to Photography

Are you eager to explore the art of photography? Join our dynamic Introduction to Photography workshop, designed specifically for Adult beginners. Over 8 weeks, you’ll dive into the fundamentals of photography while developing your first compelling photography project.

WORKSHOP DETAILS:

• Duration: Wednesdays, September 25-November 13 (8 Tuesday sessions)
• Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm (2 hours)

• Ages: Adult 18 - 100
• Location: 900 Wayne Ave. Silver Spring, MD
• Skill Level: Beginner
  

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES:

• Learn Photography Basics: Master fundamental techniques like exposure, composition, and lighting.
• Explore Social Justice: Discover how photography can address and advocate for social justice issues.
• Develop Skills: Gain practical experience with cameras and editing software.
• Create a Project: Produce a photography project focused on a chosen social justice issue.
• Critique and Reflect: Practice giving and receiving feedback and reflect on the impact of their work.

• Our goal is to foster a safe and inclusive environment for all students and encourage constructive discussions through the work we create.

• Due to high demand and waitlists, our programs require full commitment to the scheduled workshops dates and times. If you are unable to attend more than 6 sessions, please consider exploring another workshop that better fits your availability.

• Workshops are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not reached.

• All students will receive a Welcome Letter via email days before the start date with all necessary details.
• Adult classes are not free.
