Medial patella luxation is a common problem, especially of small dogs, seen by practitioners in general practice. The cause of medial patella luxation can vary from some relatively minor anatomical malalignments to major. The aim of this course is to focus on those cases with minor malalignment for which surgical correction may well be within the skill set of trained surgeons in general practice.
This course is directed at those of you whom have had little to no exposure to patella luxation surgery. It aims to give you the confidence to know which cases are within your skill set and those which should be referred to more experienced surgeons. It will provide you the opportunity to practice performing a Sulcoplasty and Tibial Tuberosity Transposition on ethically sourced cadavers. You will be able to perform the procedures more than once.
This workshop is capped at only 8 attendees It will lead by Dr Kay Eccleshare and supported by colleagues with whom she works. Dr Guy Bird, who is a SA Veterinary Surgical Specialist will also be present to make sure we bring the newest info!
