For walkers who would like an introduction or refresher in navigation with map and compass.In this relaxed half day session Craig will introduce participants to using a map and compass in the easy terrain around Ripon Tor, Pil Tor and Top Tor.
The main learning outcomes will be simple map reading, taking & walking on easy bearings and being able to relate some map features to what we see on the ground.
Terrain is hilly with tracks across open moorland.
Maps and compasses will be provided.
Participants will need to bring a packed lunch and a drink and be equipped for walking on Dartmoor in the summer.
