Discover the essential techniques of mold making in this hands-on ceramics class designed for makers ready to expand their creative toolkit.
Students will learn how to design and build a custom bisque drape mold—used to form the interior shape of stackable bowls, plates, or platters with consistency and ease.
The course also covers how to make sprig molds, ideal for adding detailed, low-relief decorative elements to your ceramic surfaces.
To finish, each student will design and carve a personal "chop"—a stamp featuring their initials or logo—for signing their work with a professional touch.
Offering a solid foundation in mold-based hand-building and new possibilities for form and surface in your ceramic practice.
About the Instructor:
Danielle Inabinet holds a BFA in ceramics from LSU and an MFA in ceramics from Tulane University. She has taught ceramics at all levels, including university courses at Tulane. Her practice is grounded in technical skill, combining mold making, glaze development, and innovative forming techniques. Danielle brings both professional expertise and a love of process to the classroom.
