Introduction to Meditation with AlixSunday, February 2 1:30 -4:00pm
Feel calm, clear, and connected.
This is an introductory course covering the basics of meditation. Emphasis is placed on learning what meditation is, it's purpose and the effects it has on our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual body.
Several different types of meditation will be explored, including metta (loving-kindness) meditation, concentration meditation, breath awareness meditation, and mantra meditation. Short meditations (10-15 minutes) will be practiced in each technique.
We will then unwind with a supported Savasana and Yoga Nidra (guided relaxation).
Detailed handouts provided with instructions for each meditation technique and how to develop a personal meditation practice.
