Introduction to Isomalt Sugar Art - Mermaid Cake Decorating Class

Take your decorating skills to the next level! In this class you will learn the basics for working with isomalt, a sugar substitute that is used to create beautiful decorations for cakes, candies and desserts. Laura Larson, from Laura’s Custom Cakes will teach you the essentials, including safety, cooking, coloring, flavoring, using molds and how to store your completed decorations.

You will take home a Summer Mermaid theme cake where you create the Mermaid tail and waves out of isomalt. We will be working with boiling sugar, so please wear long sleeves, long pants and closed toe shoes. You will be provided with gloves to protect your hands.

This class is recommended for students who have taken the Introduction to Cake Decorating Class or who have a basic knowledge of working with buttercream.

All The Details:

• Age Level: 18+
• Skill Level: Beginner - Intermediate
• All supplies and tools are provided for use during class.
• We will provide a box to take your cake home in
• The class may be a little messy so we recommend bringing an apron.
• If you have long hair, you may want to tie it back.
• Price is per person. A ticket must be purchased for each individual attending the class.
• Class requires a minimum of 3 students and there is a maximum of 6 students. In the event of insufficient enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
• Class will run approximately 3 hours. Please note that the class is hands-on and may run over or under schedule.

Cancellation Policy:

Changes and cancellations...we know life happens so we try our best to be flexible while being fair to our instructors who purchase supplies and bake for each student. Full refunds or credits are available for cancellations made at least 5 days prior to the class. If you need to cancel after 5 days but at least 48 hours in advance, we can offer you a credit for a future class. We cannot offer any credits for cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled class.
