Indian block printing is a traditional textile art form that has been practiced for centuries in India. It involves using hand-carved wooden blocks to create intricate patterns and designs on fabric. This workshop aims to introduce participants to the fascinating world of Indian block printing, providing hands-on experience and insights into this ancient craft.
This introductory workshop is suitable for complete beginners or those wanting a refresher workshop.
You’ll be taught how to print with a variety of hand-carved wooden blocks onto practice fabric and once you are feeling confident, you will then go on to print on your chosen fabric item.
All materials will be provided.
Practice Fabric
A selection of coloured Fabric Paint
Stationery items (cards/paper)
Choice of Fabric Item – Tea Towel or Tote Bag
Aprons will be provided, but please also wear old clothes
What will I take home with me?
Your practice samples, stationery items, and your completed Tea Towel or Tote Bag.
Drinks and Biscuits will be available but we recommend that you bring a packed lunch with you.
