Ohio Budokan will be welcoming Nicklaus Suino, Director of Training at the Japanese Martial Arts Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan, for a weekend seminar to give us an introduction to Iaido. Iaido is an offshoot of kenjutsu, Japanese swordsmanship, based around responding quickly and efficiently to surprise attacks by cutting down a foe immediately after drawing the sword. In the modern day Iaido still provides tremendous benefits to practitioners in the realm of personal development. With a focus on mental discipline and physical precision there is a lifetime's worth of study and growth to look forward to. Training will be from 1-5 PM on Saturday and 9-11 AM on Sunday. Dinner will be hosted at and provided by the dojo Saturday evening. Attendees must be at least 16 years old. Current members of Ohio Budokan should speak with their instructor to sign up. Guests and brand new students are welcome to participate but must contact us by July 24th to sign up. The fee for the weekend is $100.
Any equipment necessary to train will be provided. Knee pads are suggested but not mandatory.
