About this Event

Harvesting Hope Workshop: This workshop is approved by the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia for 3 CEU credits.

This workshop will provide mental health professionals with the knowledge and skill to begin using horticultural therapy techniques as a supplement to their professional practice. Based on appropriate mental health therapy treatment goals for adults, the workshop will introduce the practice of horticultural therapy and the psychosocial benefits of connecting people to plants. Through hands-on activities, participants will learn how to engage clients using plants and nature, both indoors and outdoors. The session will guide participants in identifying their own horticultural strengths and interests to become confident and successful practitioners of horticultural therapy.

A horticulture skills and interest survey will be sent to you 3 days prior to the workshop date using the registration email address you provided.

This workshop is hosted and led by Trellis Horticultural Therapy Alliance, an Atlanta nonprofit organization the uses the power of gardening and nature to enrich the lives of people living with disabilities and other life challenges.
