Fungi can be found in nearly every corner of the Earth, from airborne spores to the depths of the Marianas Trench. In all of these environments, fungi play a crucial role in nutrient and energy cycling, sustaining life on the planet. In this workshop, we will start with a brief overview of the incredible diversity in shape, size, and function within the fungal kingdom, followed by the basic steps to locate and identify mushrooms.
